Description: Used for ages 65+ years. The Vulnerability to Abuse Screening Scale (VASS) is a 12-item self-report measure on four factors related to elder abuse - vulnerability, dependence, dejection, and coercion.

This measure meets the requirement for MIPS Quality Metric ID #181: Elder Maltreatment Screen and Follow-Up Plan.

Scoring: A score of 3 or above indicates a higher vulnerability of abuse.
