Description: The Adult Self-Report Scale Version 1.1 (ASRS) is a self-report questionnaire designed for adults. This questionnaire aims to characterize the presence of signs and symptoms of ADHD. The ASRS screener is a 6-item scale. Responses to the six items are Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Often, Very Often. Our team has received permission from the assessment creators to incorporate it into our measurement based care system. This assessment is available in Spanish and English.
The ASRS Full version is an 18-item scale. The first six questions are the same as the ASRS screener version.
Adult self-report ages: 18+ years
Scoring: Items 1-6 make up "Part A" (also the Screener Version), which is used as a screener for ADHD symptoms. Items 7-18 make up "Part B" (in the Full Version), which is used to provide further information about the patient's symptoms.
Part A score: if 4 or higher, patients symptoms are highly consistent with ADHD in adults.
Part B score: summation of items 7-18 is used to complement the responses in Part A and does not use a diagnostic scale.
Some responses throughout the measure are more sensitive depending on the item. A value of '1' is assigned to responses of 'Often' and 'Very Often'; for some items, '1' is also assigned to responses of 'Sometimes'.
A value of '0' is assigned to responses of 'Never' and 'Rarely'; for some items, '0' is also assigned to responses of 'Sometimes'.
