Description: The School Refusal Assessment Scale-Revised (SRAS) is a 24-item self-report measure that assesses what is causing a child’s refusal to attend school. The measure is divided into 4 distinct functions for Object/Situation Avoidance, Social/Evaluation Avoidance, Attention Avoidance, and Rewards.
For more information on the SRAS, please visit the School Avoidance Alliance website.
Pediatric self-report ages: 8-17 years
Pediatric proxy-report (patient) ages: 5-17 years
Scoring: A total mean score and four mean subscores (listed above) are calculated.
Mean scores range from 0 - 6, with higher mean scores (means closer to 6) indicating more or stronger reasons for avoiding school.
