Patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) can be used to meet reporting requirements for quality metrics, which enables payments for the quality of care provided and improve health outcomes.
For more information about quality metrics and reporting, please visit the the Quality Payment Program website.
How do I know if I'm meeting quality metric requirements?
With PROM, quality metrics reporting is automated. This is a streamlined system since PROM uses self-report measures that your patient receives at the time of their appointment. Once your patient completes these measures, the scores will appear in the EMR and on the PROM dashboard and will include quality metrics reporting information.
If your patient is not enrolled in PROM, or failed to complete PROM at the time of their appointment, you will see this information and the associated quality metric information in the EMR. You have two options to meet requirements:
- Option 1: You can resend the PROM email to your patient to complete. The results will be in the EMR and on the dashboard within a few minutes of completion.
- Option 2: You can complete the quality metric forms in the EMR. These forms will require you to review the questions with the patient and submit the responses.
